Well, this was a cool different kind of show.
Hour 1:
a fascinating discussion with composer, fellow BCR DJ Larry Chernicoff, who's performing with his ensemble Windhorse at the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield next Saturday. We talked about the Creative Music Studio, formed by Karl Berger and Ornette Coleman in the '70's. Larry was there. And we listened to a whole mess of Larry's music, which is just plain mesmerising. Hour 2: Then Murali Coryell showed up with bassist Alex King and painted the whole room blue. What a voice!
